A drummer's dream and passion led into reality.

In 2013, after returning from a 3 month internship from USA in a top drumstore. .  Benny Lim realised that there wasn't any specialised Drum Store in Singapore.
With the experience fresh garnered from USA, he started Singapore Drum Shop with the aim of making it a place for drummers and musicians alike to gather together and purchase items at a reasonable price with proper services.

Singapore Drum Shop was founded in 2013 by young entrepreneur Benny Lim.

Benny Lim started drumming in 2010 and he has learnt drums from great teachers such as Tony Zee, James Pang, Brandon Khoo, to name a few.

He has worked in Music Stores such as Swee Lee and Sound Alchemy and he has also worked with Yamaha as the Sole Drumtech for the 2012 Asian Beat Grand Final in Singapore, setting drum sets over 20 times in a day.

In 2013, Top US Drumstore Cymbalfusion invited Benny to USA for an Internship for him to become the first Singaporean to work in a US Drumstore. Over there, Benny has learnt the different cultures in the West and has established many new contacts as well as new friends.

After setting up Singapore Drum Shop (Early Years 2013-2016)
In the first two years, Singapore Drum Shop were appointed to distribute brands such as PDP Drums, Vater Drumsticks, Aquarian Drumheads, Kat Percussion, TRX Cymbals, Sakae Drums, DG Cajon, Regal Tip Drumsticks, Premier Drums, Pork Pie Percussion, Ahead and many more.

Singapore Drum Shop also had the opportunity to endorse professional drummers such as Tama Goh, Brandon Khoo, Alfe Kim, Eddie Layman, Teo Jia Rong, Erik Hargrove into its artist roster.

On top of that, Singapore Drum Shop had the opportunity to invite world class drummers such as Mikkey Dee (Scorpion, Motorhead), JP Bouvet (Steve Vai), Brendan Buckley (Shakira, Wang Lee Hom, JJ Lin), Josh Baker (Mariah Carey), Jack Pollitt (Mamas Gun, Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeren) to interact with the local drumming community.

In October 2013, Benny was appointed as the Asia Sales Agent for TRX Cymbals, helping TRX to expand into territories such as Malaysia and Thailand.

Drum Magazine 
In early 2014, Benny was given an opportunity to showcase his store to the International readers of Drum Magazine. Knowing that this was a good chance to promote the Drum Scene in Singapore, he approached good friends Alfe Kim, Brandon Khoo and Tony Zee to write the article about the Music Scene in Singapore.

The article was released in August 2014 on Drum Magazine's website which helped many readers around the world to have a positive impression of Singapore's Drumming Scene.

Moving forward . . .  (From 2017 and beyond)
As the business expanded over the years, we took on exclusive distribution rights for numerous big name brands such as DW, Paiste, Sonor, ATV Drums, Schlagwerk and many more. 

These brands help cement our places as one of the Top Drum Shops/Distributor in South Asia, with numerous customers across the region making a stopover in Singapore to purchase their desired drums. 

In Early 2019, Benny was hired as the Asia Pacific Director for Aquarian Drumheads, as he's in charge of Sales & Marketing for the Asia Pacific Region. 

On top of that, we have invited numerous amazing drummers such as Casey Cooper (Youtube's most popular Drummer), Jared Falk (Founder of Drumeo), Pete Lockett (James Bond), Aaron Spears (Ariana Grande), Todd Sucherman (Styx) to interact with the local community.
