Macore is an African wood highly prized for its characteristic and relatively homogenous reddish colouring. It is faintly figured by dark late growth zones and is lightly striped on the radial surfaces. Pair that with the 333 construction that produces a lower tone while maintaining maximum resonance and attack, and you have a snare drum that sounds amazing and looks stunning.
