The Yamaha Steve Gadd Signature MSD14ASG is a 14" x 5" maple snare drum, precision-crafted in Japan to replicate the exact acoustic preferences of master session drummer Steve Gadd. Renowned for its unparalleled articulation, this drum delivers a signature dry, crisp, and focused voice that excels in both studio recording environments and live mix settings.
- 7-Ply Maple Shell: Built with a 7mm all-maple shell that produces a warm, resonant body with a naturally bright top-end crack.
- Vintage 35° Bearing Edges: Designed with sharp bearing edges to maximize head-to-shell contact, ensuring a fast, sensitive response even at whisper-quiet dynamics.
- Custom Black Wood Hoops: Outfitted with beautiful, matching all-wood hoops that soften the rimshot attack, providing a organic wood-on-wood "clack" and a deeply satisfying cross-stick tone.
- 10-Strand Snare Wires: Configured intentionally with a minimalist 10-strand wire setup to eliminate unwanted sympathetic buzz and highlight every nuance of your ghost notes.
- Deep Snare Beds: Specially cut extra-deep snare beds allow the low-strand wires to sit perfectly flat against the resonant head, achieving a highly articulate, choke-free buzz.
- Yamaha Mini-Lugs: Equipped with 10 low-mass precision lugs per side, allowing the shell to vibrate naturally while maintaining exceptionally stable, high-tension tuning.
