With a 10 ply Maple drum shell, the Maverick snare produces warm tones with enhanced lower frequencies. Lounge Series drums are formulated from a combination of 9 ply Mahogany and Scandinavian Birch which has been cross laminated and cold-press molded into a shell only 5.5mm thick. This results in super-strong, super-thin shells that produces a warm and complex tone. Like the Legend Series, these are precision hand-crafted drums and are incredibly versatile. The addition of Mahogany and 30 degree round-over bearing edges add a tremendous darker warmth and projection synonymous with the best vintage kits. These drums share the same wide tuning range to suit any musical situation producing low fat tones when tuned down and a brighter warmth when tuned up.

Legend Series drums are handcrafted using our unique cold-press moulding with 100% Scandinavian Birch, cross laminated into a 6mm thick shell. Legend’s super-strong shells are precision-cut with 45 degree bearing edges.

The results are astounding - naturally lower fundamental tones with immediate attack and deep, controlled sustain.

Easily identifiable, Legend Series is distinguished by the small, single Art-Deco inspired Palladium lug on both toms and bass drums.

The stylish brackets are fixed to the shells by a bespoke engineered isolation system which ensures greater resonance from the drum whilst maintaining dependable positioning. Rock-solid stability is assured by the Palladium tom brackets on both rack and floor toms.

The Art-Deco aesthetic of the Palladium bass drum claw is subtly enhanced by a black thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) gasket which gives added protection to the surface of the Legend Series bass drum hoops.

Nicko wouldn’t put his name to just any snare drum. Now you too can get your hands on Icarus, the wood shell snare drum that Nicko has always dreamed about.

Handbuilt in the UK using the British Drum Co.’s unique cold-press moulding process, Icarus is a 14” x 6.5” 10ply shell, crafted from Black Oak and finished in a spectacular Black Fishtail Oak veneer, creating a very special appearance reminiscent of a hand-hammered shell - but made from Oak! It really has to be seen to be appreciated.

Icarus sounds natural, deep and warm but with a bright presence under higher tension. Designed to powerfully cut through the high volume of rock and metal, Icarus responds equally well to softer, quieter playing, allowing the tonal qualities of the oak to shine through in any musical sitiation.

SQ1 drum shells are made of 100% European Birch. Because of its sound characteristics - balanced in low, mid and high - the Birch drum sound is very popular for studio recordings as well as live performances. When developing SQ1, Sonor tested several combinations of Birch-based shell materials. Sonor's conclusion was that pure Birch provided the most versatile sounding drum. Sonor's unique CLTF "Cross Lamination Tension Free" and OSM "Optimum Shell Measurement" process (slightly narrowed outside shell measurement) provide excellent sustain and easy tuning.

Another feature unique to the SQ1 series is Sonor's visually clean, acoustically neutral Sound Sustainer tom brackets. This two-part system, found at each mounting point and leg, is inspired by German automobile engine mounting systems. It uses beefy, 3D-printed rubber insulators to prevent shell-to-mount energy loss, for larger, louder toms and floor toms. And because they forgo the hoop-attached mounts of traditional tom suspensions, Sound Sustainers won't distract from the beauty of your shells.

In late 2011, SONOR and Gavin began working on the “Protean” project with the goal to create a snare drum that is as musically versatile as Gavin himself. The name “Protean” comes from Greek mythology meaning “versatile” and “diverse”. Gavin wanted this snare drum to be a daily workhorse instrument that can be quickly altered to suit the musical situation.

“When I had the chance to design this Snare Drum together with SONOR I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve because it is based on my experience of the last 30 years playing professionally. I chose the shell material, the hybrid bearing edges, the dampening rings, the S-Hoop and the 8-strand snare wires because I know they work in all sorts of different situations. We called the drum ‘Protean’ because it’s versatile and you can change the features very quickly to get a sound that will be musically right. I wanted the look of the drum to be able to fit in with any drum set. It has a sleek Art Deco look about it with a classic black satin finish.

Breathtaking power, unparalleled variety - In keeping with this commitment, we are adding two new wood snare drums to our well received KOMPRESSOR Series. They are equally powerful, responsive and versatile as their metal counterparts to cover a vast range of musical styles as your go-to wood snare drums. These made in Germany instruments project with a full and articulate sound, characteristic for SONOR drums.

Their heavy beech shell is made using our proprietary Cross-Laminated Tension Free (CLTF) process and Optimum Shell Measurements (OSM). The slightly undersized diameter allows for perfect contact between the shell and the drumhead in all tunings. At the same time, TuneSafe lugs and REMO USA drumheads guarantee maximum tuning stability and a great sound right out of the box.

Consisting of three vintage maple shells, the Sonor ProLite Elder Tree convinces with professional quality. The Sonor Set combines quality with modern design and perfect sound. The thin maple shells in Sonor vintage construction (4 mm/6 mm) are glued in the CLTF procedure stress-free and built with reinforcement ring.

The sound is characterized by resonance and balance as well as focused attack. Thanks to the Optimum Shell Measurement, the heads lie precisely on the 45° bearing edges. The lugs are equipped with the Sonor Tune-Safe principle, which keeps the tuning stable. Rubber-padded shell hardware and the T.A.R. Mounting System allow the drum shell to resonate.
